Burrito was delicious and the lady that took my order was very friendly and polite. 10/10 recommend and will be back again to try other food.

We purposely drive 30 minutes out to come here when we're craving Mexican food. Authentic and delicious my go to is the 3 carne asada tacos w/ beans and rice. Everything is fresh and you could tell the owner takes pride in his restaurant. Awesome staff authentic Mexican food what else can you ask for.

I love this spot! They do it all and the flavors really come through! Thanks for always making my asada burrito perfectly each time! Our family always orders our tacos here as well. They do not disappoint!

Love their food! only taqueria I know that offers crispy hard chicken tacos at their best! Good nachos too!

I love this little family run Mexican spot. Service is pleasant and efficient. The restaurant is clean. They have a nice salsa bar with good chips. The food is always tasty and consistant.

Happy to have found a nice little hole in the wall taco spot in Ventura. Located in a strip mall it was easy to spot this place. There was tons of parking and I came for a late lunch so the center itself wasn't super busy. Taco Mendoza has a good amount of tables and you order up at the counter. The menu is placed on the counter so there really isn't a menu hanging that you can view if there is a line. Staff were friendly and quick. I ordered my food to go so there wasn't much of an interaction but when ordering everyone seemed nice enough. They had some young guys taking orders and packaging food with a more seasoned looking cook in the back. The kitchen is open concept so you can see what's being done. Takeout was a breeze as it seems like the meat is pre cooked because they had my tacos ready in under 2 minutes. Some may prefer meat cooked to order (I know I normally do) but today I was in a rush so it worked out. I kept it simple and went with some street tacos: Carnitas: 3/5. A little dry and bland for my taste. Wasn't bad but I wouldn't get again. Asada: 5/5. Very flavorful and tasty. The meat pieces aren't very big but they packed good flavor that I didn't even need salsa on those tacos. I would definitely get this protein again as it was good. This place is a casual solid 3.5 but bumping them up to a 4 as we can't do half stars here. I appreciate that you can get food here in under a few minutes to be out the door. Not the best tacos in the 805 but when in the area it definitely hits the spot and I would come back for some easy grab and go street tacos.

Ok so we've been to our new favorite place twice this week--for the first time--and the only bad thing I can say is: I wish it was closer to our house! But it was a really good sign that it was medium busy with locals in both of the weekdays that we happened to go in. I need to go back to try some Friday Specials, like the ceviche! So far we've had: carne asada burrito, chile verde burrito, carne asada fries, breakfast burrito, asada nachos, carnitas taco and carnitas quesadilla. It was all amazing. We are pretty critical of Mexican food because we eat it a lot and love it so much. We know what we like and what we don't. Tacos Mendoza is everything we like. First of all, decent prices and a lot of food. I love the good amount of meat in each dish. The carnitas are amazing--great sear, not fatty, not too wet, great flavor. The chile verde flavor was beautiful, I only wish my burrito had more sauce--will ask for it next time. And we totally love the chips and salsa bar set up. Best part is the fresh cucumbers and radishes--love a little salt and salsa to make a great refreshing salad. The only thing missing is the margies! But worth the trip out to Ventura. We will definitely be back. P.S. sorry we ate too fast for me to grab photos!!

One of the best Mexican food spots in Ventura. Been coming here for years and they literally never disappoint. While the whole menu is amazing, noticeable mention has to go to the carne asada nachos. They LAYER it so well so every chip has something good on it, unlike many other places. There is always fresh salsa and chips if you decide to eat in house. I usually come on my lunch breaks and they are super quick about getting your food ready which helps a ton when you're limited on time.

Tacos Mendoza is the embodiment of local, neighborhood, 'everyone knows your name' joint. Tucked away in a neighborhood small strip mall, if you didn't have Yelp or live in the neighborhood you'd have no idea it was there. The food is as good as any place of its kind there is. The staff is next level friendly. Tacos Mendoza is as spotless, well-organized, and well run as can be. The food is well prepared, fresh and I find a good value for the money. The salsa bar has a nice assortment of three salsas, plus a pico de gallo, as well as limes, chopped onions with cilantro, all looking freshly prepared and stocked. There is also a serve yourself bin of fresh tortilla chips. Over my first couple of visits I've had the Beef Taquitos, Chicken Taquitos, Tostada with chili Colorado and a street taco with pastor. All excellent, including the beans and rice. I was there on a Sunday and I think we were the only ones that didn't know other people there. Big hellos and goodbyes as folks came and went. I think fully 2/3's, maybe more, of the folks were enjoying big steamy bowls of menudo, which came served with all the little sides that make it complete. I was heading to do some grocery shopping at the nearby Ralphs , which is almost walking distance, and realized I better eat something first or I'll buy every Entenmann's item on the store shelves! When I was first considering going there one of the reviews said it was a 'sketchy' location. I disagree. This is a very working class, well maintained neighborhood area. There is a liquor store and a 7/11 so perhaps late at night you might get some troublesome folks.
